trucking jobs
…a decent trailer. A decent drop frame moving van trailer, even a trailer I could have fixed up, but noooo, I’ve got to order a new one and wait three to four months. For those that don’t know, we pull a regular dry van with logistic equipment - Blankets, straps, decking and ramps. For the kind of freight we haul, I think better opportunities will be available with a drop frame moving van. If we have a moving van, we will miss out on certain cheap freight, but we should be able to make up for it with better freight overall.
Just like the truck, everything will be there to make money. The 19.5 tires for the larger rear door opening, and not the 17.5 tires that wear out too fast. Side doors for LTL, belly boxes to store ramps and equipment, a tuck under liftgate for special stuff and power lifts to raise the tail of the trailer to normal dock height. With logistic track inside and interior lights to see what we’re doing.
In the meantime, we have a great load that will be dedicated for the next four or five weeks and we have to rent a drop frame so we can take care of this load. This is paying pretty good, even after the rental and for a customer that if we do well, we will get more great business.
Cindy flew to Minnesota to visit family and I’m in Vegas waiting on a
load to get us to the good load that doesn’t load till Tuesday. The load is scheduled for a single, but when I pick Cindy up we will have more flexiblity getting a backhaul.
If anyone knows of a trailer for sale, let me know!
