It appears to me the real problem with the prices of oil based products isn’t so much the supply of crude oil, but, the basic refineries themselves.

We have suffered losses of refineries and no replacements. WHY? I ask.

It would seem to me, and to most other people, if we needed the refineries when they were first built, after they were destroyed or dismantled, or whatever reason that exists for them to quit producing finished oil based products, we still need them now that they are gone.

There has been some suggestions by the oil companies to increase the number of refineries to help reduce the supply of oil based products. There has been strong opposition by the enviromentalists as well.

Even though I think the enviromentalists are too diligent with their opinions and their voices to create new policies and have a large contribution to this oil supply problem as a direct and/or indirect result, I believe they have done us some good.

I am not suggesting we ignore everything that the enviromentalists stand for (I think we should keep in the back of our minds for the good they have done), but, in light of the major supply problem of oil based products, we need to overlook some of their issues and use our modern technology we have today compared to decades ago and build newer and bigger refineries to alleviate this ongoing problem of oil products supply.

We have old and discontinued military bases throughout the country, whether it be inland or along the coasts. Those would be ideal locations to build these very much needed oil refineries and would put a lot of people back to work and help their local economics as well as the national economics with the lowered prices of oil products.

I invite all of the policy makers and thinkers who run this country to use your heads, and not your wallets, to consider my ideas I presented here.

You may make a few board of directors of the oil companies mad at you for daring to lower their modest (?) incomes, but, in the other hand, you have made friends of the many millions of people who voted for you to begin with. Treat the people you represent with pride and dignity, and most of all, the way you would want us to represent you.
