U.S. Rep claims corruption, scheming in Mexican pilot program
Rampant bribery of public officials is commonplace in Mexico, and that should call into question the authenticity of any official documents provided by Mexican truck drivers, according to U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-OR.
DeFazio – who chairs the House Subcommittee on Transportation – made the statement at the opening of a hearing Tuesday, March 13, in Washington on the upcoming cross-border pilot program.
As the hearing got underway, DeFazio made it clear where he stands on the issue of Mexican trucks on U.S. highways, and questioned why Mexico isn’t letting U.S. trucks go south at the same time that Mexican trucks will be allowed to come north.
And, he charged that the Mexican truck companies being chosen to participate in the pilot program are being “cherry picked” to represent only the best trucks and drivers.
This is a surprise to NO ONE in the real world. It’s probably no surprise to the idiots inside the Beltway either, but they don’t care. As long as their New World Order moves forward and screw everything and everyone else.
Yep, color me shocked as well.
One question for you? the idiots in the beltway, would that just pertain to the White House, or would that be and including, former President Clinton, Carter, and Reagan, plus all the idiots on BOTH sides of the aisle, that have been in office since the early 60’s?
considering that the real power is not in the White House, but in the most exclusive boys club of the world, refereed to as the Senate and House of Reps. It is them that has the power to stop this if they so desire.
That would be ALL the idiots inside the beltway. Past, present, White House, All of Congress, lobbyists, PACS and is now starting to include State governors like the idiot in Texas.
I recently retired from law enforcement after 21+ years. Our Sheriffs’ Association and state peace officers organization advocated boycott of Mexico with respect to vacations or products made there. This position was adopted due to Mexico’s refusal to extradite cop killers. Now I find myself starting in a second career as an OTR Truck Driver. I cannot emphasize this is strong enough terms. Don’t vacation in Mexico. Don’t buy anything produced in that country. I feel companies that have closed plants in the US, displacing thousands of their fellow Americans, so new plants can be opened in Mexico are TRAITORS. We should let them know it.
